Hello and welcome to the Imagine Charter Pre-K program. Our preschool program utilizes curriculum from Core Knowledge, Core Knowledge Language Arts (CKLA), Zoophonics and Handwriting Without Tears. We are excited to introduce these to you and your child as they present fun hands on activities to help them learn and grow. Our ultimate goals over the next year are to have your child develop a love for learning, create lifelong friendships and prepare them for their next adventure in Kindergarten.
We are looking forward to getting to know your family, but before we can do that, you need to know about us.
My name is Danielle Gallegos and I have been teaching Pre-K professionally since 2007. I am currently continuing my education to obtain my masters in early childhood. This will be a slow process but learning new things is always exciting! I am the oldest of 3 girls and 18 cousins, so children have always been a huge part of my life. I live in Mead with my husband Joe and two Daughters; Olivia (9) and Gianna (4) and our Chocolate Lab, Cash. My girls are avid dancers and performers and inspire me every day to be a better teacher and person. This is my fourth year here at Imagine and I am so excited to be back. I am so proud to be a part of this amazing school community. Besides teaching, my passions are: writing, reading, history, yoga, dance, music and crafts. I also love to fly fish and spend time in the outdoors. This year is going to be a wonderful adventure and I am thrilled to be a part of your family!
My name is Maria Ochoa and I am so excited to be your child’s teacher this year. I live in Longmont with my husband Joao and my Daughter Sophia who will be in first grade next year at Imagine. I have volunteered in the children’s ministry program at my church for the past 4 years. I love doing art with preschoolers and inspiring their creativity. This is my second year at Imagine and I am looking forward to teaching Spanish and leading the afternoon program. When I am not teaching I enjoy going on bike rides, swimming, and spending time with my family.
E.W.A.P Enrichment schedule: Classes begin at 2:00pm.

Happy March! We are excited to learn all about habitats this month. Deserts, Rainforests, Ponds, and the Ocean are all the different environments we will be discovering in class. Our habitat units inspire our family project that we display at the art show on May 5th. You and your child will pick one habitat that you would like to display as a diorama. Please work with your preschooler on brainstorming ideas, purchasing materials and creating the environment. This project gives you a chance to talk with your child about the types of animals, vegetation and climate that different habitats have and presents a home/school connection to the theme. I like to give you all plenty of notice about these family projects so that you can start talking about them at home. They are not due in class until Wednesday May 3rd. Thank you for your participation with this.
In April we will begin our study on life cycles. We study Butterflies, frogs, and plants. To get a hands on experience with the butterfly, our class is going on a field trip to the Butterfly Pavilion at the beginning of April. For this field trip we ask that parents do their best to join us as we have limited spots on our bus. It is the last field trip of the year and Mrs. Robert’s and Mrs. Stone’s class will be joining us. The date for the field trip is Friday April 7th. We will meet at the pavilion at 9:30. Please let us know if you cannot drive and attend the field trip so that we can reserve a spot for your child on the bus. More details and a permission slip to come!
On Thursday March 9th we will be taking our graduation/class pictures. The cap and gown for these pictures will be provided. Girls: please style hair so that a cap can easily be worn. Picture forms were sent home in Friday folders. Please return these forms to a teacher so that we can get them to the photographers.
On Friday March 10th please let your child dress up like a Cowboy/Cowgirl. Our dramatic play this week is wild west to go with our desert theme, so we thought it would be fun for the kids to dress up.
