Hello! My name is Kelsey Evers. This is my ninth year of teaching, third at Imagine. I've known I wanted to teach since I was in Kindergarten and worked really hard to get to where I am now. I received my Bachelor's in Liberal Arts with an emphasis in Elementary Education from Colorado Christian University in 2010 and started teaching as soon as I graduated. I've taught grades 4, 5 and 6, but this will be my second year teaching Innovation and I'm absolutely thrilled with. In partnership with Code.org I will be teaching Computer Science Fundamentals and Discoveries.
What Is Innovation?
Innovation is the creation and ideation of better solutions that answer unarticulated needs to problems that don't even yet exist. Students in grades K-8 will be challenged to grow in creativity, communication, collaboration, persistence and problem solving by various means, even when it's frustrating. Whether creating a website using HTML and CSS, designing an app using Java, or writing algorithms to make robots come to life, students will be challenged to think about computers in a new way. In this age of instant access to information and answers, it is my goal to foster inquiry and curiosity to allow students to ethically and responsibly create for the world ahead.
